Expand your reach by tagging a collborator on your posts

The Invite a Collaborate feature in instagram is compatible with Stampede Social as long as account initiating the collaboration is connected with Stampede Social. The mirrored version will work 100% of the time on the collaborators timeline since it is merely a mirror of the authorized Stampede Social poster's post.

Invite a collaborator

  1. Upload your post or reel via the Instagram app.
  2. Select Tag people
  3. Select Invite collaborator (and click Done)
  4. Share the post and your collaborator will be notified
  5. Once that collaborator's account accepts your collaboration request your post will display on the collaborator's timeline as well as your own.
  6. For Stampede Social's Auto-DM automation to work from either timeline a fans/customer must make a direct comment on that post.
  7. The Auto-DM will only come from the account connected with Stampede Social, never the collaborator (even if the comment is commenting on the version of the post on the collaborator's timeline.
  8. Calls to action on posts involving collaboration should focus 100% on commenting with the campaign keyword(s) only.

  • Why can I only tag a collaborator via the Instagram app?

    Instagram does not make that feature available via 3rd party apps - only via the actual Instagram app. 

  • If I tag a collaborator will the Auto-DM come from them also?

    No. Stampede Social will only ever send the automated DM from the original poster of the post which must also be authenticated with Stampede Social.


    Stampede Social cannot send DMs on anyone's behalf that is not authenticated with Stampede Social. 

  • Do you have any wording advice for the call to action?

    Yes. For a post that you plan to Invite a collaborator only use wording that encourages your fans to make direct comments to the post.


    Do not mention DMing the hashtag direct via DM because that feature will not work with the Invited collaborator and will likely cause confusion with your fans.

  • Why is my post not showing on my invited collaborator's timeline?

    While you can Invite anyone as a collaborator a post will only ever show on their timeline if they accept your request to be a collaborator. 

  • Does the person I invited to be a collaborator need to also have a Stampede Social account?

    No (but, we'd love you to put in a good word). 


    But seriously, no they do not. Since the post is a mirror of the post from an account that is authenticated with Stampede Social only that account needs a Stampede Social account.
